We are also pleased to have Sheila and Earl on Sunday  26 May for a feather pin carving and painting session. Any one interested in carving and painting a lapel feather pin should register early. Fee $20.00. A list of paints and materials will be provided before the sessions begin.

A list of competition categories and rules are enclosed. A few changes and additions have been made to enhance the competition. Feather carving has been brought back this year walking sticks and relief carvings, with a wild life theme have been added.

A new category is the purchase prize award. Each year we are asked by the major shows we attend, to donate a carving for a door prize in exchange for the cost of booth space. The request is usually for a duck or loon. Our request to members  for donations seems to have run out!  This year we are offering a purchase prize of $250 first place and a $200 award for second place. One of the carvings will be used for donation and the other will be used in exchange for  booth space. Acceptable carvings for this category would be full size waterfowl & fish. They could be decorative or slick style. In the case of larger animals and birds these could be half or three quarter size. For  example  a half size loon could be judged in this category but would not be judged in a species category.  More details will be available before the competition dates.

If you know of a sponsor who would be interested in a purchase prize award please contact the competition committee.

There are a number of people who have not turned in their ticket stubs for the raffle. Please forward  to Mel or Carl, or drop in to any  Thursday evening carving session at the Museum.
